New Roots in Texas, Same Heart for Uganda!

By Klint and Vicki Ostermann

We are excited to share something that has been growing in our hearts for a while now. After much prayer and planning, we are launching Sow Hope Farms in Texas. This new chapter feels like a natural extension of the work God has allowed us to do in Uganda, and we cannot wait to bring this model to the States.

We deeply love the people of Uganda and remain committed to the ministry there. Nothing about that is changing! We are not leaving Uganda. We have a wonderful team of Ugandan staff and missionary partners who will carry on the work, and we remain fully invested in the children, families and communities we serve. We are planning to spend every spring and fall in Texas and every summer and winter in Uganda. Summer and winter seasons are the dry seasons in Uganda, when farmers are able to attend trainings since they are not working on their farms.

Bringing the Same Ministry Model to the U.S.

What has become clear to us over the last few years is that the same model of hope, community and sustainable agriculture that has brought so much life in Uganda is also needed in the United States. That realization is what led us to plant Sow Hope Farms. We want this to be a place that teaches practical skills, creates meaningful work for vulnerable people, brings families together and offers a space where faith and daily life connect in a tangible way.

To make this possible, we will be splitting our time throughout the year. In the Lord’s perfect wisdom, this timing works out beautifully with both climates. The planting and harvesting cycles in Texas line up with the seasons when we are here, and the same is true in Uganda. Each place will receive our hands and attention during its most active months. God has truly gone before us and designed this model and timing long before we knew it.

Our Vision for Sow Hope Farms

Our vision for Sow Hope Farms is this: We want it to become a place where people can learn, grow, work together and experience the joy of cultivating something meaningful. We see youth discovering how food grows, outcasts finding meaningful work, vulnerable people creating streams of income and churches connecting more deeply with their communities. We also see it as a bridge between our two homes. The lessons learned in Uganda will shape the work in Texas, and the growth here will strengthen our ministry overseas.

An Invitation to Get Involved

We would love for you to be part of this from the very beginning. Your prayers, encouragement and gifts mean more than you know. We would love to connect about how you can help us take the first steps, either in person or online. You can book an appointment with us at: https://meetings-na2.hubspot.com/klint-ostermann.

The start-up needs are significant, and every gift helps us put seeds in the ground and build a foundation that will last. If you feel led to give, you can sow into this work today. Your support will help us move forward with faith and confidence as we begin this new season. If you would like to help us begin this journey, you can give today and become part of Sow Hope Farms in Texas from the ground up!

Thank you for walking with us. Thank you for believing in the work God is doing in Uganda and for celebrating with us as that work expands into the United States. We are grateful for every prayer, every gift and every hand that joins us in planting hope.
